Bellingham Must Cut Out the Immature behavior to Earn a Key Position In Tuchel.

For Bellingham to aims to force his way once again into the English best team, the smart move to cut out the nonsense. His reaction after noticing that his number was about to come up following a night of uneven play in the match against Albania was not good enough.

"I’d rather not blow it out of proportion but I stick to my words 'attitude matters' and consideration for the players who enter the game," Tuchel said. "Decisions are made and you must accept them as a player."

Bellingham has to learn. It was unnecessary for a tantrum. Harry Kane had only moments earlier made it England leading by two in a dead rubber match, the game had six minutes to go and the player, following an inconsistent display, received a caution for fouling an opponent. This could scarcely be called a questionable change. Indeed it would have been foolish for the manager to keep Bellingham on the pitch given that it was possible he would rule himself out of the first match of the World Cup by picking up a another booking.

Drawing Attention on Himself

However, the player made himself the center of attention. No one could overlook the 22-year-old’s frustration as he realized that his replacement was ready for a teammate. He threw his arms up and while he shook Tuchel’s hand on his way to the sideline there was no doubt that Tuchel was not impressed.

Here lies the test for Bellingham. He applauded Marcus Rashford for providing the assist for Harry Kane to head in his second goal, but the rest was counterproductive. It's not like arguing was going to alter the decision. The coach has repeatedly emphasized respecting team hierarchies and the importance of acting professionally.

Facing Examination

The midfielder, not included in last month’s squad, is being watched carefully upon his return to the fold in the current camp. In effect he was being assessed and he hasn't helped his case with his response to his substitution as the side completed a perfect qualifying campaign by overcoming a tough opposition from the Albanian team.

The Coach's Plan

This implies it's unclear on if the squad operate most effectively with Bellingham in the team. The performance was open to interpretation. There was experimentation by the coach in the beginning. Under him, England have gained England a clear system over the past few matches, employing a No 6, a box-to-box player, a playmaker and out-and-out wingers, but it felt different in this match. Quansah was made his England debut, the midfielder was in the starting lineup for England and the role of the defender as a part-time midfielder gave a similar look to City's 2023 treble winners.

Inconsistent Display

Bellingham was a mixed bag. He made a chance for Eberechi Eze during the second half but frequently appeared overly eager to shine. There were a lot of poorly executed passes. A pointless clash with a rival player at the beginning. The team looked disjointed during most of the second period. An opportunity for Albania followed Bellingham squandered possession. His booking was shown after he was dispossessed from Broja and committed a foul on the attacker.

Squad Strength Shows

Finally the bench quality proved crucial. Tuchel introduced Phil Foden, who seemed more naturally fitted to the role in which Bellingham operated in the opening period, and Bukayo Saka. In time Saka delivered a set-piece for the captain to break the deadlock. It highlighted that corners and free-kicks will play a key role at the World Cup.

Connection Remains

Still, though, Bellingham was the story. The excellence of the winger's delivery for the second goal was somewhat overlooked amid the drama of the Rogers substitution. When the match concluded, all eyes were on the midfielder. Tuchel came over behind him and directed the Real Madrid midfielder in the direction of the away supporters. The bond between them is not damaged. Tuchel hasn't decided to discard him at this stage. Yet whether he is willing to grant him centre stage is not guaranteed.
