One two-month voyage through the Australian Coast was terminated days after the fatal incident of an older lady who was left behind by the ship on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the remote island with other travelers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the group for a break. The vessel sailed away leaving her and returned after some time after the ship staff realised the lady was not present.

A large-scale hunt found her body the following day.

Investigative bodies are examining the tragedy, alongside investigators and the state coroner.

Head of the shipping company stated that passengers and staff on the vessel were notified that the continuation of the journey had been called off due to the "sad loss and previous mechanical issues".

In a statement, he mentioned that travelers would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to arrange the travel back of the individuals via private aircraft".
